If you have
been injured or have caught an illness or disease and
someone else is responsible, you may be able to claim
compensation.
This can include injury, illness or disease caused by a
road accident, accident at work or medical accidents.
If a member of your family has died due to an accident
you may also be able to claim for compensation. This is
known as a "Fatal Accidents" claim.

If
your opponent admits the accident was his or her fault,
but does not agree with the amount you are claiming, you
may be able to receive some money early. Your solicitor
can apply for "Interim Payment".
This is where the opponent pays some money to you now
and then the court decides how much more you should
receive at a later date after more information has been
obtained about what your case is worth.

If
you have an accident you must bring a claim within 3
years of the accident or the court has the power to
refuse to allow you to claim for your injury. There are
exceptions to the 3 year rule.
If you were under 18 when the accident happened.
In this case the 3 years only starts to run from when
you are 18. You can receive more detailed advice from
